CJ#1 Discription / Specifications

"CJ#1" is a Tom Colvin design built by Greenich Yachts in Canada. The deck and hull were completed in 1974 by Greenich Yachts. In 1984 CJ#1 was launched in Everett, WA. She was completed in 1992 by the original owner. The interior of this vessel is very well thought out by the owner. For example, the galley is larger than most have at home, the engine can be removed by one person without the need of a crane or boat yard. The owner has designed this yacht to be self sufficient in any part of the world. Nothing on this boat is high tech or difficult to work on. The idea was to make it simple and easy to operate and fix while being anywhere in the world.

The accommodation include sleeping for 7. (1) double and (2) singles in the salon, (1) double in the master stateroom, and (1) single in the pilothouse. The heating system is a diesel stove w/ hot water radiant heat to the salon, master stateroom and pilothouse. Head has an electric flush Lavac and separate tub and shower. There is also a washer/dryer combo as well.
The galley is one not to miss. The galley is in the forepeak and is just like being at home. The galley is in a wrap around configuration with a double sink, large Nova Kool refrigeration and freezer, Microwave, 3 burner propane stove with oven, several very large draws and cupboards. This galley offers more storage than any other boat you have seen.

The Isuzu 47hp is complitmented by a hydraulic drive unit to make the boat very efficient and easy to operate. The longevity of a hydraulic drive unit is much greater than the standard transmission. The owner claims once you operate a hydraulic drive you will never go back. I have not seen an engine log as accurate as this one.

The electrical system consist of 4 heavy duty golf cart batteries offering 440 amp hours and 1 starting battery. The engine powers a 120 amp alternator, and there is a 45 amp battery charger.

The electronics include a Icom VHF, Dirago compass, Raytheon radar and a costal navigator depth sounder.
